Project Coordinator and Systems Analyst - POS
In the Project Coordinator role, this person is responsible for managing new functionality and system improvement projects from conception to implementation. In the System Analyst role, they are performing data analysis and translating business needs into long-term informational architecture. They work closely with other departments to implement their requests. This role will also create, update and execute scripts that support the daily store and corporate retail business.
Consult with business users to analyze and understand reporting requirements, needs and objectives, creating requirement documents and project plans to achieve the desired results. Conduct data quality analysis, to identify old or problematic operations and suggest improvements or solutions. Performs ongoing activities to maintain and enhance overall system performance. Create reports using reporting tools. Provide technical support to system users and customer support staff. Provides recommendations on the best approach to accomplish the desired store systems requirement. Manages cross-departmental projects, ensuring projects are completed and on schedule. Coordinates weekly project updates to the customer and the Project Services Supervisor. Transfers knowledge to customer and HelpDesk. Other functions include, but are not limited to Oracle Xsuite, Relate (Loyalty), Databases, SQL, Promotion support, CRM, ftp support, Windows servers and desktops, MSOffice, HTML5, Python & C++.
Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from members of the business community or store retail environment. Report on data issues, publishings, upgrades, new reporting systems, etc. Coordinate strategic direction of retail systems with other MIS management. Creation of actual functional code to support application change request. Analyze and resolve program or system bugs, identify database error whether source of error and user driven or program drive. Research and document program function upon user request.
Provide ongoing technical support to system users and customer support staff to maintain and enhance overall system performance. Address as required programming needs. Recommend quality/process improvements on existing program functions. Remote support as needed for technical issues, holidays and software/hardware pilot and rollout.
Education: College degree, or 6+ years in IT Retail Environment
Experience: 6+years in a Systems Analyst or Project Manager role, preferably working with Retail or Point of Sale systems.
Special Knowledge or Skills: Point of Sale (Oracle Xsuite preferred). Ability to troubleshoot both hardware and software issues. Oracle DB, Windows servers and desktop, MSOffice, HTML5 and Java scripting a plus.
