ABOUT THE LOCATION:
 
Our client is located on a peninsula on the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay, in a county consisting of about 213 square miles. The town centers offer convenient highway access to the cities of Annapolis, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C. Despite its proximity to one of the nation’s wealthiest metro areas (30 miles southeast of Washington, D.C.), the cost-of living remains affordable. With its low crime rate, the county is a safe place to live. In addition, preservation-oriented planning projects safeguard the area’s character. The county offers rural charm, an excellent school system, and an unmatched quality of life. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:
 
Our client is a MEDITECH 5.63 site which is currently LIVE with Nursing online documentation, Bedside Medication Verification (BMV), and physician eSIGN. They are in the process of implementing Clinical Review and Physician Desktop, and are just beginning their Physician Care Manager (PCM) implementation. They will go live with Provider Order Management (POM) first, with Prescription Management (RXM) and Physician Documentation (PDOC) to follow later. They are also in the process of implementing Allscripts in the ED, and NextGen for the Ambulatory EHR. Our client offers a very progressive environment: they were the first in the state to implement eICU technology, the first in the state to create a community HIE, and will likely be the first to connect to the state HIE. These efforts all tie into their commitment to meet “meaningful use” criteria.
 
POSITION PROFILE:
 
Reporting to the CIO, you will perform as a Project Manager responsible for implementation, maintenance, support, and enhancement of inpatient electronic health record (EHR) systems. Will lead interdisciplinary teams focused on applications for physicians and mid-level providers. Will serve as physician liaison, serving on hospitalist committees.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred
  • Clinical healthcare background as an RN or PA-C
  • 3+ years of prior experience implementing and supporting provider-focused EHR systems in a hospital setting
  • Substantial project management experience with the ability to manage multiple projects of relative complexity and meet deadlines
  • Ability to lead and facilitate decision-making by interdisciplinary teams
  • Experience with CPOE required; MEDITECH Physician Care Manager (PCM) and Provider Order Management (POM) experience is strongly preferred
  • Experience developing and maintaining order sets required; ZynxOrder experience is a plus
